Photography FAQs
Mauritius.

Practical answers about photo sessions, weddings, timing, weather, booking and delivery. If your question is not here, Andy is happy to help.

General
Where is Ido Productions based?

Ido Productions is based in Mauritius and photographs couples, families and weddings around the island. For location sessions, Andy can photograph you at your hotel or another suitable place nearby.

What style of photography does Andy shoot?

Andy’s approach is natural and documentary-led. He stays unobtrusive during real moments and steps in with gentle direction when it helps, particularly for portraits. The aim is authentic photographs that still feel polished and editorial.

I’m uncomfortable in front of the camera. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Andy’s approach is built around keeping things relaxed rather than heavily posed. Most of the time he lets moments unfold naturally, with simple guidance only when it helps you look and feel your best.

Do you photograph couples and families as well as weddings?

Yes. Ido Productions photographs couples, families, honeymooners, proposals and weddings, with both private beach sessions and sessions at a location of your choice in Mauritius.

Do you charge travel fees within Mauritius?

No. Andy photographs throughout Mauritius and there is no additional travel charge for locations anywhere on the island.

Photo sessions
Can we choose where our photoshoot takes place?

Yes. For the Photo Session at Your Location, you can choose a hotel, beach or other suitable location in Mauritius. If you are unsure, tell Andy where you are staying and he can suggest somewhere nearby.

What is the Private Beach Photoshoot?

It is a private one-hour session at Bain Boeuf Beach for individuals, couples, families or friends, priced at €50 per person and paid in full when booked online.

When is the best time for a photoshoot in Mauritius?

Morning sessions are generally best earlier in the day, around 09:00. For afternoon sessions, Andy works around the sunset time for your specific date so the session can take advantage of softer golden light and the blue hour after sunset.

Can we book a midday beach photoshoot?

Generally not. Mauritius midday sun is very strong and the heat can make the experience uncomfortable. Andy normally recommends an early morning session or a time based around sunset instead.

Is drone photography included?

Yes. Aerial photography is included where weather and flying conditions allow.

Weddings
Do you photograph small weddings and elopements?

Yes. Andy offers coverage ranging from couple-only elopements and intimate weddings through to full-day weddings with guests and multiple venues.

Can Andy cover getting ready, the ceremony, reception and party?

Yes. Wedding coverage can include preparations, ceremony, couple portraits, dinner or reception and the party. Tell Andy which parts of the day matter to you and he will recommend the appropriate coverage.

Can you photograph a wedding at several different locations?

Yes. The larger wedding options are designed for days involving multiple locations such as preparation, ceremony, portraits and reception venues.

Do you offer underwater wedding photography or boat trips?

Yes. Andy’s most extensive Mauritius wedding experience can incorporate underwater photography, drone photography and boat trips, including locations such as Coin de Mire and Flat Island.

How much is the deposit for a wedding?

It depends on the coverage. Smaller wedding packages use a €50 retainer, the larger Dream Wedding packages require a 30% deposit, and the multi-day Mauritius package requires a 50% deposit because suppliers need to be reserved.

Booking, weather & delivery
How do we book?

Once the details are agreed, the required deposit or payment secures the booking. Standard photo sessions use a €50 non-refundable deposit, while the Private Beach Photoshoot is paid in full when booked online. Wedding deposits vary according to the coverage selected.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Mauritius weather can change quickly. If conditions are unsuitable, Andy will discuss the options with you and sessions can be rescheduled for bad weather. If a Cyclone Warning Class III is in force, photography sessions do not go ahead.

When is the remaining balance due?

Any remaining balance is due before the finished gallery is delivered.

How are the photographs delivered?

Your edited photographs are delivered through a private online gallery in high resolution. Wedding galleries are normally delivered within two weeks of the wedding day.

Can we get the RAW photographs?

Yes. The complete unedited RAW set is available as a €150 add-on and is delivered separately via Google Drive. RAW files are supplied straight from the camera without culling or editing, so the set may include duplicates, test frames, missed-focus images and photographs that would normally be removed during Andy’s selection process.

Still have a question?

Tell Andy what you have in mind.

For a normal photo session you can check availability and book online. For a wedding, send Andy the details and he will recommend the coverage that fits the day.
